The Sonic series has held a special place in fans’ hearts for over 30 years. One of the main reasons Sonic games have stayed relevant is the constant creation of new and varied content, whether Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) or the most recent one, Sonic Origins.
Sega is always looking for its next big hit. Besides an enormous and devoted fanbase, the Sonic franchise has kept itself connected over the years by rarely taking any break between new pieces of content.
Fans who want even more from Sega may be in good fortune, as Sega filed a new trademark for the Sonic Frontiers logo, which will be coming out in late 2022. It will be the first open-world game in the series.
The latest Trademark by Sega can be seen on the famous chizai website used for patents, designs, and trademarks published daily by the Japan patent office. It relates to “game software” for “computers, video game players, and electronic and wireless devices.”
The logo looks similar to the typical Sonic Logos. Since Sega has already released Sonic Origins with some new features this year, we might see those features transitioned into Sonic Frontiers. We recently posted the news on Achievement trophies and Cyber Space Levels.
Fans will likely want to keep an eye out for Sonic Frontiers, which is expected to release in late 2022. The anticipated title is on everyone’s sonar, and the community is brimming with excitement every passing day.
For those unfamiliar with Trademark, a trademark can be any word, phrase, symbol, design, or combination of these things that identifies your goods or services. It’s how customers recognize you in the marketplace and distinguish you from your competitors.
