Age of Empires II Rated By ESRB & PEGI For Xbox Consoles

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition is a real-time strategy game developed by Forgotten Empires and published by Xbox Game Studios. The game was released for Xbox Game Pass for PC and Steam on the 14th of November 2019. It is a remaster of the 1999 game Age of Empires: The Age of Kings.

It was released on its 20th anniversary and came with many improvements to support the latest gaming tech. In addition, it included all the previous expansions, including The Last Khans. Therefore, the game became a gold mine for all Age of Empires fans.

Since then, fans have eagerly waited for the game to come out on their favorite consoles, and some good news has popped up, potentially revealing that the game will soon be coming to Xbox consoles.

Age of Empires II Rated By PEGI & ESRB

Our sharp eyes at TopTierList have found some exciting details as Age of Empires II gets rated by PEGI and ESRB. If you are unaware, ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) is the system used in Canada, the USA, and Mexico to distinguish what games are suitable for different age groups. At the same time, PEGI (Pan European Games Information) is the system used in most European Countries and the UK for the same purposes.

Once a game has been rated there, its supported platforms can be seen, and from the rating we found earlier today, it seems like Age of Empires II: Definite Edition is headed for Xbox consoles.

Major Points

  • Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition has been rated by ESRB and PEGI for some Xbox consoles.
  • According to a tweet by a renowned leaker, it is likely that the game will be out somewhere in 2023.
  • Although there has been no definite announcement regarding the game coming to Xbox consoles, it should be revealed very soon.

When Will the Age of Empires Come to Xbox?

Earlier today, we got some exciting news: PEGI rated the game for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. That alone confirmed the rumors that the game was headed for Xbox consoles, but later, we got more evidence to back it up as ESRB also rated the game for the same platforms.

After seeing that, only one question comes to mind: “when will that happen?” We can’t be sure since they haven’t officially announced it yet. Nevertheless, the official Age of Empires Twitter account posted something regarding their 25th-anniversary broadcast later today.

It seems like they have something special planned for this anniversary, and if it weren’t obvious enough, they would likely release the game for the anniversary. Adding further information to the pile, a renowned leaker, The Snitch, replied to the tweet with a “See you in 2023″.

The Snitch is known for his cryptic messages instead of the traditional direct approach of leaking information. According to him, the game will come sometime next year. Since he has a past full of credible leaks, we can rely on his words.

Still, we suggest you wait for the broadcast since this should be revealed sooner or later. It may sound like next year is a long time, but 2023 starts in 2 months, so it can be released anytime after two months.

Ending Remarks

Although we have uncovered the information, it can take some time. There is no reason for them to stretch the announcement, but if you are a franchise follower,  you may know that the Xbox version of their Age of Empires IV was also spotted back in January this year, but no information has been given since then.

We should still be getting some exciting news, so it is undoubtedly a great day for the Age of Empires fans. What are you most excited about?
