As the Witcher fans await the arrival of the Witcher 3 Next-Gen, we see something intriguing in the trailer posted earlier today. CD Projekt Red announced back on October 26, 2022, the news of a Witcher 3 remake. The game is scheduled to launch on December 14, 2022. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC users.
CD Projekt Red released the trailer earlier today, and we could see many features that were not in the Original Witcher 3. One of the features that caught the most attention from the fans was the return of the controversial Nilfgaardian Armor, aka the ‘Ball-sack’ Armor from the Netflix Series Witcher Season 1.
The Original Witcher 3 did not have the hideous ball-sack armor. Netflix, in their Witcher series season 1, first unleashed it. The Witcher TV series faced severe backlash for adding it to the series, but it was smoothened out when they changed the armor’s design in season 2. The trailer for the next-gen Witcher 3 is below:

Crux of the matter
- CD projekt Red has added the Netflix Season 1 ‘Ball-sack’ armor to the game.
- The ‘Ball-sack’ armor might be an optional feature according to the fans.
- The launch date for the game is December 14, 2022 and will be available for Play Station 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
One of the fans on twitter spotted the Ball-Sack Amor and replied to the Witcher’s twitter account. After that, the fans have been talking about it on twitter, Reddit and other discussion forums. There were many new features added and changes in the game though. Many fans are saying that the ‘Ballsack’ Netflix Armor is optional and we can change it in the settings.
However, it has not been confirmed by CD Projekt Red themselves. We can see the other new added features from this tweet below. We can also see the infamous ‘Ball-sack’ armor in the trailer.
Some key W3NG facts:
-Update is FREE for everyone who owns any version of the game (GOTY, Complete, Vanilla)
-New Camera option for Exploration, Combat and Riding
-Performance & Ray Tracing mode on consoles
-New ULTRA+ setting on PC
-PHOTO MODE!

As we can see, Netflix redesigned the armor but the new game does not have the redesigned armor. So, why did CD Projekt Red add this armor to the game? The original Witcher 3 did not have this armor. It was Netflix Exclusive. They even changed the design in the Witcher series season 2.
The fans have expressed their dissatisfaction with the Ball-sack armor. If there is not actually an option to change the armor in the settings, the remastered version might face the same backlash as the Witcher Season 1. Knowing CD Projekt Red, they will not let us down. We think there will in-fact be an option to change the armor in the settings. What do you think of the return of the ball-sack armor? What about the new added features? Let us know below!
