Crash Bandicoot 4 is Coming to Steam

Crash Bandicoot is a video game franchise originally developed by Naughty Dog which used to be an exclusive for Sony’s PlayStation console but not anymore. There are several entries in the series, most of which fall within the Action-adventure genre. The sequence mainly consists of platform games and spin-offs in the kart racing and party game genres.

The games mostly revolve around the fictitious Wumpa Islands, where humans and mutant animals co-exist; players get to control Crashed, an enhanced bandicoot, who is the protagonist of the game and often gets interrupted by Doctor Neo Cortex, who wants him dead. Like its predecessor, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time made its way to PC on March 26, 2021, through Activision Blizzard’s Battle.net service but was not available on steam.

The period between Crash 4’s console release and PC port is far shorter compared to Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which enjoyed a lengthy, one-year stay when it launched in 2017 for the PlayStation 4. In the end, it made its way onto Steam and other platforms. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has been spotted on Steam Database.

This confirms that we will soon be seeing Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time on Steam, and this is not the first Time Activision is releasing a game on Steam when it’s already on the Battle.net service. We already have the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy available on Steam, and with Crash Bandicoot 4 coming to Steam, more players will play the game as Battle.net service is not as popular as Steam.

It’s been nearly two years since the release of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, but the state of the franchise has been in question. The Crash Bandicoot franchise has held a special place in the hearts of players since 1996. Over the last few years, the beloved Bandicoot has appeared in a handful of highly-regarded titles, including Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot 4. Those games were released after several years where Crash had all but vanished.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has been a Battle.net exclusive for over a year. But as Microsoft launched the process of acquiring Activision earlier this year. For the first time in 3 years, we have witnessed a new Call Of Duty game on Steam. It wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see Crash Bandicoot 4 on Steam.
