Pokémon, if you don’t know, is about a universe in which humans train, catch or battle with a species known as Pokémon. As of this date, there are 908 Pokémon in the Pokémon universe, divided into 8 generations. In this legendary pokemon tier list, we will discuss 81 of those 908 pokemon known as legendary Pokemon.

Legendary Pokemon are incredibly rare in their universe that is unparalleled in their powers. These Pokemon are mostly gods or beings of legends like Arthur and Merlin. A disclaimer about this tier list is that this list is based on careful research on these Pokemon from various sources. Your view may not align with ours, but please remain respectful of the following content. Some mythical pokemon may be discussed as well if we believe they qualify for a legendary pokemon, too (based on public opinion).

Lugia

The first legendary we will be discussing on this tier list is Lugia. Its Pokedex number is 249 and is known as the Diving Pokemon. It is a psychic flying type and is extremely strong as it avoids all ground-type attacks from all Pokemon on this legendary pokemon list. It is one of the most iconic Pokemon and a fan-favorite among the legendary birds of the franchise.

Zekrom is known as the Deep Black Pokemon and is entry number 644 on the Pokedex. It is a catchable pokemon in Pokemon go as well, making it among the top entries of the Legendary Pokemon go tier list. Rayquaza is known as the Sky-High Pokemon. It was introduced in generation 3 and is one of the few legendary Pokemon that can obtain a mega evolution among any legendary pokemon go tier list or simply a legendary pokemon list.

This Pokemon has a very high attack stat making it a very dangerous pokemon. Along with that, it is resistant against Fire, water, grass, fighting, ground, and bug-type moves and Pokemon making it a good choice for most battles however, it has one of the lowest catch rates in any game.

Darkrai is known as the Pitch-Black Pokemon and is entry number 491 on the Pokedex. It was introduced in generation 4 and is one of the fastest legendary Pokemon. Mew-two is perhaps the most commonly known and among the best legendary Pokemon of the entire franchise. It has been featured in a number of movies under the description of “Genetic pokemon.” Mewtwos’ data is stored at entry number 150 0f the Pokédex among the first generation of Pokemon in this tier. Necrozma is called the Prism Pokemon and is entry number 800 on the Pokedex. It is a psychic type pokemon that was released in the 7th generation of Pokemon. This Pokemon has the ability to morph with Solgaleo or Lunala to take other forms known as Dusk Mane Necrozma (Solgaleo) and Dawn Wings Necrozma (Lunala).

Thundurus is called the Bolt Strike Pokemon, entry number 642 on the Pokedex. It is an electric flying-type pokemon and was released in the 5th generation of Pokemon along with its fellow guardians, Landorous and Tornadus. It is a relatively decent legendary pokemon on this legendary pokemon tier list but not too good. Furthermore, it is one of the few legendary Pokemon that have a disclosed gender as well.

Entei is called the Volcano Pokemon, entry number 244 on the Pokedex. It is a fire-type pokemon that was released in the 2nd generation of Pokemon. It is resistant to 6 types of moves and Pokemon while only being weak against 3. Not only that, but it has well-rounded stats making it a decent and safe choice for playing with.

Latias is called the Eon Pokemon, entry number 380 on the Pokedex. She is the psychic dragon-type female counterpart of her fellow Pokemon, Latios. Latias’ type effectiveness is the reason she is one of the best average Pokemon because she is weak to 6 types but is resistant to 7 types. She is definitely a strong pokemon to play if you have a strategy built around her.

Lunala is called the Moone Pokemon, entry number 792 on the Pokedex. It is a psychic and ghost-type pokemon that is referred to as the female evolution of Cosmeom but still remains genderless. Lunalas ability to morph with Necrozma makes it one of the strongest legendary Pokemon to obtain if you already have Necrozma. It is resistant to normal, fighting, poison, and psychic-type moves but very weak to Ghost and Dark-type moves.

Genesect is called the Paleozoic Pokemon, entry number 649 on the Pokedex. It is the only Bug-type legendary or mythical Pokemon that has been released which makes it a very unique pokemon paired with a steel-type trait as well. Solgaleo is called the Sunne Pokemon, entry number 791 on the Pokedex. It was released alongside Lunala as the male evolution of Cosmoem, however, remains genderless. Regice is called the Iceberg Pokemon and is entry number 378 on the Pokedex. It is one of the 6 “Regi” pokemon, being the ice type among them. Its stats are unique as it has very high special defense but very low attack and speed. Regice’s resistance is only against ice-type moves but is weak to 4 types. This Pokemon’s reason for being B-Tier is its abilities, Its stats can’t be lowered, and he regains hp if he is in a hailstorm.

Suicune is called the Aurora Pokemon, entry number 245 on the Pokedex. It is the water-type legendary dog among the three legendary dogs next to Entei and Raikou. If not for its bad Hp and Special Defense stats, it would surely qualify as one of the strongest Pokemon in this legendary pokemon list.

The Alpha pokemon, otherwise known as the God of all Pokemon, is called Arceus. In lore, Arceus is the strongest legendary Pokemon and the best legendary Pokemon of all legendary Pokemon. They are its confined (psychic ghost) and unbound (psychic dark) forms known as either the Mischief pokemon or the Djinn Pokemon. F Tier

The F-Tier is the final tier of this pokemon tier list. It is universally known to contain the absolute worst in its category; the same goes for this list. This tier will be containing some of the worst legendary Pokemon in the entire franchise. These Pokemon do not play a key role in the lore but are considered “Filler” pokemon.

Heatran

This Pokemon is an interesting one because it confuses a lot of players when they realize this is a legendary pokemon. It is a fire and steel-type legendary Pokemon under the species of Lava Dome Pokemon at Pokedex entry 485. Heatran is astonishingly resistant to 11 types but has horrible stats to complement that ability.

Urshifu

Kubfu evolves into possibly two forms of Urshifu under specific conditions in the pokemon games. It is a Fighting-type pokemon with alternating types between water and dark depending on its form. Urshifu, also known as the Wushu pokemon, is resistant to 4 types of moves and Pokemon.

Kubfu

Kubfu is the prior evolution of Urshifu as mentioned above and is also registered as the Wushu pokemon under Pokedex entry 891. It is weak to bug, rock, and dark type moves with horrible special attack and special defense stats.

Terrakion

The Cavern Pokemon is a rock and fighting-type Pokemon registered as number 639 on the Pokedex. It is weak to 7 types of moves but only resistant to 6 types making it one of the worst legendary Pokemon in this tier. Terrakion has decent attack stats but lacks stats in every other category.

Mesprit

Mesprit is a psychic-type legendary pokemon registered under the species “Emotion Pokemon” at Pokedex number 481. In spite of its resistance to 3 types, it is also weak to 3 types but has a very balanced stat distribution. This Pokemon fails to be as good as other legendaries, which puts it in the F-Tier.

Uxie

Uxie is the last legendary Pokemon we will be discussing in this legendary pokemon list. The Knowledge pokemon is registered under Pokedex number 480. Even though this Pokemon has a good defense but a horrible attack and hp along with weakness to 3 types of moves which allows it to be in the F-Tier when compared to all legendary Pokemon.
