Pokemon GO Master League Tier List [V. 0.269]

Ranking the Best Pokemon for Master League Battles in Pokemon GO.

Many of you were asking us to make a Pokemon GO Master League Tier List , as this is where the best players in Pokemon Go battle it out in PvP battles. It is also currently the highest-level PvP league in the game and has no CP restrictions.

As a result, in PvP, players can use legendary, pseudo-legendary, or mythical Pokemon. As a result, players must decide which Pokemon to take to the Master League, so I have attempted to address that question with my article

Summary

  • We have a total of 17 Pokemon on the list.
  • The rankings have been done keeping in mind the move sets, attributes, and tactics.
  • You will find the likes of Lugia, Giratina (Origin Forme), and Mewtwo.
  • Pokemon such as Ho-Oh and Giratina (Altered Forme) can are located in the lowest ranks.

To provide you with a brief overview of all the ranks, please refer to the table below.

S Tier

Broken Pokemons in the Game's Current Meta
S Tier.

The S Tier includes dominant Pokemon that are unmatched in the meta, possessing well-rounded movesets, strong abilities, damage output, and tankiness. They are popular favorites and provide the greatest advantage in the game. It is highly recommended to use them to win league matches and climb up the rankings.

Lugia

Psychic/Flying Pokémon Lugia is a legendary Pokémon. It is weak to Rock, Ghost, Electric, Ice, and Dark moves and other types of attacks. Extrasensory & Aeroblast, Lugia’s most potent moveset, with a Max CP of 3,703, making it the strongest in the game. “Even a little flutter of Lugia’s wings may completely demolish a normal home. Consequently, this Pokémon prefers to spend its time submerged in the ocean, far from prying eyes.”

Lugia can unleash its full potential in the Master League now that it is free of the CP ceiling. Lugia is an incredible powerhouse to be reckoned with, having the most significant bulk and stat product in the game and a formidable moveset.

Significant dangers like Groudon, Palkia, and their type and moves may counter Garchomp. Lugia’s incredible weight also makes it a good Pokemon to catch charge moves with since it can withstand the multiple nukes in the metagame.

Giratina (Origin Forme)

Pokémon Giratina (Origin) is a ghost-and-dragon legendary. It is susceptible to Ghost, Ice, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy moves. Dragon Tail and Shadow Ball are Giratina’s most potent moveset, with a combined CP of 3,683. “It was exiled because of its ferocity. From the Distortion World, it kept a quiet watch on the old world. Due to its greater raw strength when unbound, the Renegade Pokemon has an advantage over its Altered counterpart in this area.

As a consequence of Giratina-ability O’s to perform several functions efficiently, he is often seen roaming the halls of Master League. Dialga, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, and Mewtwo are all countered by this move, as well as Mewtwo and ground types other than Groudon.

It is the only Dragon-type that has a reasonable chance of beating Zacian in a matchup. In addition, since Ghost-type strikes aren’t often countered, they may also do a lot of neutral damage. With Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball being so powerful, it makes up for its one-type move set. ”

Mewtwo

However, the massive attack and defense numbers and the lightning-fast Psystrikes are just part of what makes Mewtwo so great in Master League. Due to its wide variety of secondary charged attacks, Mewtwo has a wide range of metagame matchups that it can take advantage of.

Melmetal, Dialga, and Zarude may all be wiped clean with a single use of Focus Blast. Shadow Ball is dangerous to Giratina and Mewtwo, whereas neutral Ice Beam allows you to attack Groudon, Yveltal, and several other key Dragons.

Mewtwo is one of the most exciting generalists in the game, despite its weak defenses and lack of significant resistance. As a result, Mewtwo is one of the format’s most relevant safe swaps. There are no Mewtwo evolutions available right now in Pokémon GO. Psychic Pokémon Mewtwo is one of the most revered. Bug, Ghost, and Dark movements all have an impact on it.

Shadow Lugia

Lugia (S) is a legendary Flying and Psychic Pokémon from the Sun & Moon generation. Consequently, this Pokémon prefers to spend its time submerged in the ocean, far from prying eyes.” Extrasensory and Aeroblast are Lugia (S) ‘s most significant moves while fighting Pokémon in Gyms.

There is no better moveset for PVP matches than this combo of techniques. This Pokémon is a Psychic/Flying type, making it vulnerable to Rock, Ghosts, Electric, Ice, and Dark. Chandelure, Thundurus, Xurkitree, Zacian, Darmanitan (Galarian Zen), and Darmanitan (Crowned Sword) are the five most powerful Pokémon that can defeat Lugia (S) (Therian). Lugia can unleash its full potential in the Master League now that it is free of the CP ceiling.

A Tier

Prominent Pokemons in the Game's Current Meta
A Tier.

The A-tier consists of prominent PVP Pokemons that are above average and are highly adored by fans. Some of these Pokemon can even be classified as S-tier due to their performance. They are dependable and have excellent base stats and movesets that make them formidable in both offense and defense. The Pokemon in this tier are well-rounded and serve their purpose effectively.

Zekrom

The legendary Pokémon Zekrom is both a dragon and an electric type. Moves from the Ground, Ice, Dragon, and Fairy can easily take it down. Charge Beam and Wild Charge are Zekrom’s most powerful moves, with a maximum CP of 4,038. “Lightning clouds hide the creature as it soars about the Unova area. Its tail generates power.” Charge Beam and Wild Charge are Zekrom’s most acceptable options when fighting Pokémon in Gyms. There is no better moveset for PVP matches than this combo of techniques.

Regarding fighting-type Pokemon, Zekrom has a better matchup than Dialga because of its speedier charge attacks and absence of Fighting-type weaknesses. Keeping Kyogre and Giratina-O under control is another way it performs its Dragon-type duties. Zekrom can’t shatter your shields no matter how hard you try, but it has a slew of solutions if they’re still up.

If Zekrom can’t land a Wild Charge, Togekiss walls it, and Dialga kills it. Excadrill is impervious to Drill Run’s STABs and is destroyed by it. Others whom Zekrom has to face include Groudon, Zacian, Landorus-I, and Mamoswine, but the proper charge techniques may cause substantial damage to all of them. Hence, it will be placed in the A tier of the Pokemon GO Master League tier list.

Groudon

Groudon is a legendary ground-based Pokémon. ” Water, Grass, and Ice moves may cause all damage it. Using Dragon Tail and Earthquake, Groudon has a maximum CP of 4,115, making it the strongest moveset in the game. ” Groudon is thought to embody the land itself, according to folklore. As both attempted to obtain the power of nature, legends speak of countless confrontations between it and Kyogre.” Groudon’s most extraordinary moves in Gym battles are Dragon Tail and Earthquake.

There is no better moveset for PVP matches than this combo of techniques. Groudon is one of the Master League’s most powerful Pokemon. It is a force to be reckoned with at full strength, relying on its enormous numbers, powerful moves, and compelling typing. Groudon, a Ground-type, attacks Steel-types like Dialga, Melmetal, Excadrill, and Metagross since they are plentiful in the league. Although it may not be able to thoroughly beat its opponents, such as Giratina, Zacian, and Mewtwo, it has the strength and mass to take on them.

Togekiss and Zarude may take some damage from Fire Punch, although it is a weak attack. Groudon’s Mud Shot set is vulnerable to Dragon- and Flying types. Therefore access to Dragon Tail complicates the possibilities for countering Groudon’s Mud Shot set. Groudon, on the other hand, isn’t perfect. In particular, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Yveltal, and Dragonite may be difficult to deal with because of its Mud Shot set’s bait reliance.

Reshiram

The legendary Pokémon Reshiram combines the elements of dragons and fire. Moves from the Ground, Rock, and Dragon can easily take it down. Using Fire Fang and Overheat, Reshiram has a maximum CP of 4,038. What happens to the weather throughout the planet when the tail of Reshiram is flared? Fire Fang and Overheat are the most refined techniques for Reshiram to use while fighting Pokémon in Gyms. There is no better moveset for PVP matches than this combo of styles.

Because it has a Dragon/Fire type, Reshiram is vulnerable to moves of the Ground, Rock, and Dragon types. To defeat Reshiram, you need to utilize one of the five Pokémon: Kyurem (Black), Palkia, Rayquaza, Salamence, or Haxorus.

Dialga and Reshiram possess the same stats as Reshiram and the same suffocating Dragon Breath effect. As a result of Reshiram’s Fire secondary type, it has near-unresisted coverage and is a severe danger to almost every Pokemon in the game.

Yveltal

Yveltal is a flying, dark-colored Pokémon. Moves like Rock, Electric, Ice, and Fairy put it at risk. There is a maximum of 3,781 CP in Gust & Hurricane’s moveset. “The life power of living beings is absorbed by this legendary Pokémon when its wings and tail feathers expand wide and flash crimson.” In gym battles, Yveltal’s most fantastic moves are Gust and Hurricane. There is no better moveset for PVP matches than this combo of techniques.

Yveltal is particularly vulnerable to four types of moves: Rock, Electric, Ice, and Fairy. Zekrom, Thundurus, Darmanitan, Xurkitree, Zacian, and Thundurus (Therian) are the five strongest Pokémon you may employ to defeat Yveltal. Like Darkrai, Yveltal relies on rapid energy to put pressure on its shields via its charge techniques. On the other hand, it is significantly more prominent and more reliable than Darkrai. Yveltal receives protection against Groudon, Zarude, and Mewtwo’s Focus Blast because of the inclusion of a Flying subtype.

Many popular Pokemon, including Dialga, Giratina, Mewtwo, Lugia, and Melmetal, are vulnerable to Yveltal’s combo of Dark Pulse and Focus Blast. Hurricane may also be used to deal a significant blow on Zacian, perhaps reversing the matchup’s often poor results. When it comes to dealing with Steel-type Pokemon, Yveltal’s primary challenge is that it has to sacrifice Focus Blast to dent Zacian and Togekiss, which is a considerable risk.

B Tier

Balanced Pokemons in the Game's Current Meta
B Tier.

B-tier Pokemons may be significantly less powerful, but they are still compelling. This is the balanced level  in the Pokemon Go Master League tier list, labeled as the “B Tier.” However, these Pokemon have some beneficial aspects and a few crucial drawbacks.

Dialga

Steel & Dragon Pokémon Dialga is a mythical tale. Fighting and Ground techniques may easily take it down. Metal Claw and Draco Meteor are Dialga’s most potent movesets, with a combined CP of 4,038. “It is capable of altering the passage of time.

Sinnoh mythology depicts it as an old god.” Metal Claw and Draco Meteor are Dialga’s most special techniques when fighting Pokémon in Gyms. There is no better moveset for PVP matches than this combo of styles. Dialga has shown time and time again that it is rightfully atop the Master League. Dialga is a force to be reckoned with in the metagame because of her imposing Dragon Breath pressure, substantial numbers, and unique defensive type. Several Pokemon, including Kyogre, Lugia, and Zarude, are protected by this ability.

Dialga, a Dragon-type who isn’t vulnerable to Fairy, can hold its own against Togekiss and force it to use a shield twice to win. Dialga has a high damage output and can even make opponents engage in mind games against him, even when the odds are stacked against him. All of this makes Dialga the Master League’s most splashable Pokemon.

Melmetal

Steel Pokémon Melmetal is the result of Meltan’s evolution into Melmetal. It is all at risk in combat, ground, and fire maneuvers. Thunder Shock and Hyper Beam are Melmetal’s most powerful moves, with a maximum CP of 3,599. It has reappeared three thousand years after it was first hailed for its ability to forge iron from nothing. Thunder Shock and Hyper Beam are two of Melmetal’s most special techniques while fighting Pokémon in Gyms. It is the greatest moveset for PVP encounters because of its high overall DPS.

While Melmetal may not be a clear winner in some of these matchups, its spamminess and danger against Ho-Oh, Yveltal, Excadrill, Snorlax, and Zarude enable it to serve as a check. When it comes to overcharging, Melmetal’s superior bulk and wide range of resistances provide a significant advantage since it can readily store charge movements while moving around to look for better targets to unleash them on.

Ground types like Groudon and both Landorus forms are Melmetal’s significant counters. It also has difficulty dealing with Giratina-O, whose Shadow Claw and Shadow Ball are both robust techniques. Additionally, Zacian is a considerable danger to Melmetal, and the Pokemon Melmetal prefers to team up. As a result, it will be assigned to the A tier of the Pokemon GO Master League Tier List.

Palkia

It is a legendary Water and Dragon Pokémon known as Palkia. Moves from Dragons and Fairies may easily take it down—Dragon Tail & Draco Meteor, Palkia’s most decisive moveset, with a maximum CP of 3,991. “Because of this, it has the power to alter the physical dimensions of time and space. Sinnoh legend refers to it as a god.” When facing Pokémon in a Gym, Palkia’s most significant moves are Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor.

Dragon Tail has somewhat superior stats on paper, but Dragon Breath is simpler to utilize and benefits much more from specific breakpoints. Second charge moves include Draco Meteor or Fireblast, both of which use STAB to deliver a lot of damage to almost every Pokemon in the game. Fireblast also affects Steel Pokemon, who are immune to Dragon-type techniques. There is no better moveset for PVP matches than this combo of styles. Water/Dragon-type.

Zarude

One unique Pokémon is Zarude, a combination of dark and grass. It is susceptible to Bug, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Fire, Ice, and Fairy attacks. In Zarude’s most potent combo, he uses Vine Whip & Power Whip, which has a combined CP of 3,833. “A pack of this Pokémon’s species may be found in thick woodlands. The other Pokémon in the forest are afraid of it since it is so violent.” If you’re going up against Pokémon in a Gym, Zarude’s most significant moves are Vine Whip and Power Whip.

There is no better moveset for PVP matches than this combo of techniques. As a result of Vine Whip’s higher energy output, Zarude may use his Charge Moves more quickly. As a controversial move, Zarude’s Bite reduces its effectiveness against Ghost and Psychic Pokemon by relieving it of shield pressure. Dark Pulse and Power Whip are viable possibilities for Zarude since they require significant energy, and both have STAB.

Due to its dual-type Dark/Grass Pokémon, Zarude is particularly vulnerable to Bug-type attacks, fighting-type maneuvers, and Poison, Fire, Ice, and Fairy-type techniques. Volcarona, Vikavolt, Frosmoth, and Yanmega are the five strongest Pokémon you may employ to defeat Zarude.

C Tier

Notable Pokemons of Pokemon GO Master League Tier List
C Tier.

Despite its low rank, the C tier receives nearly the same weight as the B tier on this list. These three Pokemon are almost identical, making up this tier of Pokemon. These Pokemon are among the least significant in the whole game.

Garchomp

From Gabite, Garchomp is a Dragon and Ground-type Pokémon. Ice, Dragon, and Fairy move all have an impact on it. Its most potent moveset is Dragon Tail & Outrage, with a maximum combined power of 3,962 points. In addition to decreasing wind resistance, the sharp edges of its thin scales injure any opponent who comes into contact with them. Garchomp’s most extraordinary moves in Gym battles are Dragon Tail and Outrage.

There is no better moveset for PVP matches than this combo of techniques. As a Master League threat, Garchomp has excellent stats and an almost unresisted STAB combo that it may use relatively often. The Giratina + Steel-type core is particularly troubled since it can attack both Pokemon quite well. This Pokemon is famous for its ability to routinely defeat Melmetal, something other Dragon Tail Pokemon may fail to do.

Garchomp is susceptible to Mewtwo’s Ice Beam and Mamoswine’s twofold Ice vulnerability. For Dialga, Zekrom, and Reshiram, Garchomp possesses a bulk point if it has at least 14 Defense IVs and a similar degree of strength. As a result, it will be placed in the B tier of the Pokemon GO Master League tier list.

Gyarados

It is a Water and Flying Pokémon that mutates into Gyarados from the Magikarp. Electrifying and rocking the thing will make it crumble like a flower. With a Max CP of 3,391, Gyarados’ most decisive moveset is Waterfall & Hydro Pump.

“The structure of Magikarp’s brain cells changes as it transforms into Gyarados. This metamorphosis is considered to be the cause of this Pokémon’s ferocity.” For Gyarados, Waterfall and Hydro Pump are the best moves to use in Gyms. There is no better move set for PVP matches than this combo of techniques. Like many others who possess Dragon Breath, Gyarados enjoy its many benefits. Despite its absence of stab, Gyarados’ most extraordinary fast move does four damage each turn and three energy per round.

With its high energy cost and potential for KOs, Hydro Pump (130 Power/75 Energy) is a less reliable alternative than the other two. Gyarados is a Water/Flying type Pokémon, making it vulnerable to Electric and Rock-type attacks.

Dragonite

Dragonite, a dragon-and-flying Pokémon, is the next step in Dragonair’s evolution cycle. Ice, Rock, Dragon, and Fairy moves all affect it. Dragon Tail and Draco Meteor are Dragonite’s most powerful moves, with a maximum CP of 3,792. “It takes just 16 hours for Dragonite to complete a world tour. A good-hearted Pokémon helps stranded sailors find their way to shore during a storm.” If you’re going up against Pokémon in a Gym, use Dragon Tail or Draco Meteor on your Dragonite.

There is no better move set for PVP matches than this combo of techniques. Because of its access to Dragon Claw, Dragonite stands out among the several Dragon kinds in Master League. As a result, Dragonite can exert tremendous pressure on other Dragon types, providing it a minor advantage in battle (outside of the ubiquitous Dialga). Mud Shot Groudon can’t stand a chance because of its secondary Flying type.

Additionally, you can anticipate Dragonite to execute its job as a Dragon-type, defeating Kyogre, Ho-Oh, and Giratina-O, thanks to its robust move set, resistance, and overall high stature. Unfortunately, Dragonite is plagued by a slew of problems.

D Tier

D Tier.

D tier is noteworthy while being less vital than the other tiers in this Pokemon GO Master League tier list. These Pokemon are the least significant in the game. According to the current meta, the D Tier Pokemons are currently the weakest in this game. A few things come to mind now that I am showing the final tier.

Giratina (Altered Forme)

An altered version of the legendary Ghost and Dragon Pokémon Giratina (Altered). It is susceptible to Ghost, Ice, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy moves. – Currently, no evolutions are available for Giratina (Altered) in Pokémon GO.

Shadow Claw and Dragon Claw are the most powerful techniques in Giratina’s arsenal, with a combined CP of 3,379 for the pair. Compared to its counterpart, Giratina-O, Giratina-A poses a significant danger in Main. Giratina-A stands out because of its sustained damage output and extensive range of coverage, as well as its Dragon-type STAB. As a result, Snorlax is no match for its combat ability. In general, it’s a safer transition than Giratina-O since its losses aren’t as severe.

On the other hand, Giratina-A lacks the nuking ability of Giratina-O to bring down targets. Shadow Claw and Dragon Claw are two of the most nuanced attacks for Giratina (Altered) to use in Gym battles.

Ho-Oh

The legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh is a Fire and Flying type. Rocks, water, and electricity may damage it. His best moveset is Incinerate, and Brave Bird, with a maximum CP of 3,863. “Seven different hues may be seen in the feathers of Ho-Oh depending on the angle at which they are illuminated. There is no better move set for PVP matches than this combo of techniques. Although it takes five turns to complete, incinerating is Ho-sole Oh’s feasible fast-move choice because of its excellent STAB damage and energy production. Brave Bird is Ho-most Oh’s energy-intensive move, but it’s also his most cost-effective.

Self-debuffing yet great STAB damage makes it a significant danger without shielding. The Master League is where Ho-Oh excels, now that it can make the most of its impressive numbers. Fire/Flying-type Ho-Oh is resistant to Fairy, Fighting, and Ground attacks because of its Fire/Flying type. With Ho-unique Oh’s ability to hard counter non-Wild Charge Zacian in the Master League, several Dragon-types may benefit from its support.

Patch Notes Ver. 0.269

Version 0.269 brings the following changes to the game.

  • Bounsweet, the Fruit Pokémon, will make its Pokémon GO debut.
  • A certain Pokémon will make its Pokémon GO debut in 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km Eggs this May.

Verdict

This is the Pokemon GO Master League Tier List that will stay in force until the next patch, or maybe until players comprehend the new meta. You can disagree with my reasoning of course, and we would love to hear your opinions in the comments below.
