Assassins Creed has been a mine gold of content for gamers in the past few months. Ubisoft is pulling no punches at all when it comes to this AAA series, and just when you think they are done, they remind us otherwise.
The Assassin’s Creed is a franchise published by Ubisoft. It currently has 12 official titles, with a new one in development. Most Assassin’s Creed enthusiasts already have their hands full with the leaks about the new title. That only furthers the question as to what brought the following change.
Recently, eight additional icons have appeared alongside the series on the Xbox Console. The intent of these icons has not yet been disclosed. However, many of the audience speculate it regards an upcoming enhancement to some of the old titles.
This news was spotted by the team here at TopTierList on Twitter from the user @HazzordGaming. Additionally, a Reddit thread linked in the tweet shows some of the viewers’ opinions on this change.

Firstly, the tweet author hints at this potentially being an indication of a new Ubisoft showcase which the fans have been desperate for. Since the announcement of the new Assassin Creed game, Assasin’s Creed Mirage, Ubisoft has been under quite the spotlight.
Most users do not seem happy about this change moving from the tweets to the Reddit threads. A Reddit user named u/Assured_Observer posted a question asking about this sudden change. Some speculate that this change is not permanent, while others think it has something to do with the Ubisoft showcase on September 10th, 2022.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity
One common thing among most replies was the criticism that this does not bode well for the future. Many assume that some of the major technical issues players face in the games will not be dealt with anytime soon. Rather this change is about another Ubisoft Project named Assasins Creed Infinity.
This simply implies that all the individual titles of the series will be combined into one title as chapters. More information about this project has not been released, but the Showcase happening later this month may change that.
Quality of Life
Another part of the Reddit thread’s audience criticizes the icons’ new appearance. Their main criticism is that the new icons make it much harder to differentiate between the titles. This change is a quality-of-life update, and maybe a temporary one.
It simply feels like Ubisoft is another company that found the wrong end of the Minimalistic Logo trend. I also prefer the older icons because they emphasize each title’s uniqueness. But, hopefully, this change brings about some good that we are not aware of yet.
