Hunt: Showdown is an FPS game developed and published by Crytek. It was released on the 27th of August 2019 for Microsoft Windows. After a month, it was also released on Xbox One and eventually PlayStation 4.
Many players might not know, but the game had early access on Steam back in February of 2018. Since then, many people have picked up the game, and it’s been an incredible ride. One downside is that it is a game you would enjoy with friends.
Unlike other titles, you won’t be as excited playing the game alone. But everyone has their own preference. Regardless, the game doesn’t stop pumping content for the players out there. One such piece of content is the upcoming Serpent Moon event.
They gave us a teaser for this new event; however, no date was given for its launch. Luckily, we got some exclusive details for you, so sit back and enjoy.
In the event, the central premise is to collect or sacrifice snakes; not sure how the wording will go. There will be an “Evolving Hunter, Stage Two: Rise” listed in the new additions. There aren’t many details on what that means exactly.
But the icing on the cake is the rewards you will receive during the event. These are listed as:
- Snake Ward Oil – This will be a legendary consumable.
- Snakeshot Sparks Pistol.
- Columber Romero 77 Alamo.
- Antosha Caldwell Conversion Chain Pistol.
- Earthshine Berthier Mle 92.
- Serpent Moon – It will be the new event time of day.
- Miners Song Alert Trip Mines.
- Slither Winfield M1873 Swift.
- Lucidus Vetterli 71 Karabiner Silencer.
- Red Dog Dynamite stick bundle.
The event will start on the 27th of July and end on the 20th of September. There is plenty of time to finish everything and get your desired rewards. Not to mention, these are event exclusive, so there won’t be another time to get them. If you love to go solo, you don’t need to worry about anything. But if you want to party with someone, it’s not that hard either.
The community is now much more welcoming to newcomers as compared to before. If you want to finish things fast, you can ask in the community and find people to play with. If you are new to the game, you assume the role of the bounty hunter, who must kill the mythical monster to claim the big bounty. Furthermore, you must also survive long enough to reach an extraction point.
Fun Fact: The game was originally in development as a somewhat “successor” to Darksiders. Vigil Games developed Darksiders. Hunt: Showdown was supposed to be called “Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age“. However, the original developer Crytek USA was shut down due to financial issues. So it was brought to Crytek headquarters in Germany.
