Call of Duty is a first-person shooter game that has gained vast popularity since it first came out. The games in the franchise are published by Activision, and the first game came out in 2003. It focused mostly on a story that was set in World War II, however, they have now adopted different stories from Cold War, outer space, and even a futuristic world. The game even has some spinoffs developed by other studios. Their most recent title includes Call of Duty: Vanguard, released in late 2021.
They have sold over 400 million copies as of April 2021, so their numbers are surely even higher now. While their earlier games received some criticism over the story settings and themes, they have still managed to be consistent in hitting the top charts every time.
It is one of the most successful video game franchises and even ranks fourth best-selling in the world. They have also received a Guinness World Record as the best-selling FPS game series.
Recently, we received some leaks from a notable leaker on Twitter named TheGhostOfHope. Hope is a well-known Call of Duty leaker and has updated the fanbase with many exciting leaks in the past, which were confirmed later on.
This time he said that the third mode of Modern Warfare II “DMZ” is going to have a marketplace where players can buy or even trade different skins, blueprints, and much more. It will be usable across Multiplayer, and even in Warzone 2. He went on to say in a follow-up tweet that the details are sparse, but this is definitely the main focus of the developers.
They want to bring this as a reward and something that will bring different titles together. Further details will come out when COD blogs post an official announcement or update on this matter.
Details are sparse on this at the moment but it’s a huge focus for the devs. They want this mode to be rewarding and connect with other parts of the title. I’m sure COD blogs will detail the exact details when the time comes. https://t.co/lD77y1gQdf

He also mentioned in another tweet that Modern Warfare II’s third mode DMZ has at least 4 maps under development. These maps will not be connected to Warzone 2 map, and are entirely different in design. Some of these will be claustrophobic, while others more open-world.

It should be noted though that the items in the shop will be skins and other in-game stuff, and not any NFTs, which is somehow a concern for some people. Yes, they are memes, but there won’t be anything like that in the game. If you have any speculations on what else we might see, please do let us know below!
