Persona 6 Has Allegedly Been Delayed Internally

The leaker believes the game will release after 2 other Atlus projects.

For a while, several leaks have occurred regarding the development of Persona 3 Remake and Persona 6. Last time we heard, these games were allegedly far into development, and the possibility of them releasing this year became more and more likely. However, our team at TopTierList found another statement by the same leaker today that states the game has been delayed internally.

ResetEra user Im A Hero Too commented in a thread discussing the Persona series. When others asked him to update on the matter, he said, “Absolute zero chance [Persona] 6 releases this year. It was delayed internally just yesterday, and there is a rough timeframe, but can’t share, sorry.

Since he has previously reported on Persona related projects, his words have some credibility. However, nothing has been confirmed on this subject, so take it with a grain of salt. The leaker later said he thinks the game might release after Atlus’ other 2 projects.

Major Points

  • Persona 6 was allegedly delayed internally yesterday.
  • According to the leaker, there is zero chance that the game will be released this year.
  • He also thinks the game will be released after Persona 3 Remake or Atlus’ other project.

It was rumoured recently that Persona 3 Remake and Persona 6 would be announced this year, as both the games were far along in development. The reveal was rumoured to be sometime during the Summer, and many fans even believed that Persona 6 would release later this year.

However, the same leaker has updated us on the situation; according to him, there is zero chance of that happening. Even though they may have planned to release it this year, it is not the case anymore because the game is allegedly delayed internally.

Since we have little to no official information on this matter, we can only take this rumour as it is. In addition, the leaker also commented on when he thinks the game will be released. He stated, “[The Delay] could be to release remake first or the other game, but I’m not privy to that info. If the teaser is at Sony’s next show, I’ll know beforehand and confirm.

So, we can likely expect the other projects to come before Persona 6, and if the reveal is planned for the next State of Play, we might get info on this beforehand. Moreover, a user replied to his comment by saying Atlus must have something big planned, to which he replied, “I’m not involved in any way with the other two games, I just see stuff here and there. My bet is 6 comes after them, so there could be something this year, I can’t really comment on that confidently.

As such, we can’t say much about the other two games since he pointed out his lack of knowledge of the state of the other two games. If you didn’t see the previous rumour, you might wonder what he means by other games.

Persona 3
Im A Hero Too’s Statement From Last Month.

Atlus has 3 games in development (which we know from the rumours so far); Persona 6Persona 3 Remake, and an unknown project, which is most likely Project Re Fantasy. 2 of these are supposedly far along in development, while the other has been announced for a quite a long time. According to the previous leak, Persona 6 should have been announced already, but they had been cancelling or changing the reveal timing.

So, it makes complete sense that they would want to release other games before Persona 6. Additionally, Atlus is notorious for delays, as we know from Persona 5‘s development. Nonetheless, we can’t say much until this has been confirmed officially. Since they likely won’t say it themselves, if the reveal for other games comes first, then what this leaker says is most likely true.

In that case, we might wait a lot longer than expected to get our hands on this game. In the meantime, what are your thoughts on the game likely being delayed internally? When do you think the game will be released? Share your thoughts with us below, and we will get back to you!
