One of the most tragic ends for a game undoubtedly belongs to Red Dead Online, the online multiplayer mode of Red Dead Redemption 2. It was initially created with many expectations from Rockstar; they hoped it would generate the same profits as GTA Online. However, reality had something else planned.
Over the past years, it’s been a constant battle of push and pull between fans desiring more updates and Rockstar doing nothing for Red Dead Online. Unfortunately, things reached a dire conclusion when Rockstar gave an announcement, which for many fans, translated to “no more major Red Dead Online updates.” Their statement included the following:
Over the past few years, we have been steadily moving more development resources towards the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series — understanding more than ever the need to exceed players’ expectations and for this next entry to be the best it can possibly be — and as a result, we are in the process of making some changes to how we support Red Dead Online.
In the end, GTA 6 became the winner. They confirmed that all plans for significant updates for Red Dead Online had ceased to focus more on GTA 6’s development.
About Red Dead Online
If you haven’t played multiplayer, allow us to explain. Red Dead Online is an action-adventure game published by Rockstar Games in 2019. It is the online part of Red Dead Redemption 2. The player can customize their character within the game, who is freed from prison after being framed for a murder.
Throughout the game, you complete missions to take revenge in exchange for proving your innocence. It is set in the late 1890s, a year after the events of RDR2. The game allows up to four players to complete tasks together and advance the game’s narrative.

The Dakota River Bend server is a community server developed by some of the hidden talented developers in the Red Dead community. They have an official Twitter where they actively hire skilled developers to expand their arsenal further.
Their main objective is to create content for the Red Dead Online community that Rockstar themselves should have added. In a sense, they are doing what Rockstar did not and have created unique concepts through their love for RDR2.

The small team of developers has made it so you can drive a train out of Saint-Denis and defend yourself, along with the train, against an ambush. While the concept is simple, it perfectly matches the Red Dead Online theme. It’s one of the simplest forms of content that would have been appreciated if Rockstar made it.

Their team consists of differently able people working together to make a healthy yet hard-working community. Even though the game has reached the end of its lifespan, these gamers carry on the legacy and make the game much more fun for new gamers getting into the Red Dead Franchise.
