Some game developing companies have brought so many insane games that they are now the staple in their own genre. Eidos-Montréal is one of those studios, as it has created some of the most notable titles, including Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, and even some Marvel games. If you don’t follow the studio, they are a video game development company based in Montreal. It was founded in 2007 as part of Embracer Group.
Today, we will discuss their upcoming game and what it will feature. The gaming journalist and insider Jeff Grubb talked about it in his podcast, and as a certified journalist with abundant resources, his word is almost always true.
In this hour-long video, our team at TopTierList caught this valuable information on Eidos’ upcoming game and exciting bits on Deus Ex. According to Grubb:
Eidos pitched a new Deus Ex immediately, they said they wanted to make the Cyberpunk that Cyberpunk wasnt, that is very very early. I don’t even know if it got greenlit or whatever, but like that’s where there head is at. Then they also have another project that is like a Kids on Bike genre game, like Stranger Things or E.T., and that is probably going to come first anyhow.
How This Can Play Out
Embracer has many themes, and the success of its various games will rely on how well they do it. Saints Row is already doing fantastic, and if they continue to do well in future games, Kids on Bike might become a more well-known genre.
Although it is not officially a genre, many games come under that category, and Jeff himself listed some in his statement. Take the kids in Stranger Things, for example, and how they explore their town mainly on bikes. It adds an element of adventure and innocence to the children, which gives it an even more thrill than you expect.
It is interesting to see Eidos prioritizing that game so much that they are releasing it before the next Deus Ex. If that were not the case, the launch of a new Deus Ex could cause hindrance in both titles since a notable game attracts high expectations, and other games under development can suffer the pressure.
In addition, once this game is out, we might see more initiative taken towards the new Deus Ex game that Grubb mentioned. But since Deus Ex still hasn’t received the green light, we can’t be too hopeful. For us, the new Kids on Bike genre game is the main focus, and all we need now is the official announcement from Eidos themselves.
Considering how Jeff said it would come before Deus Ex, we can hope it is not that far into the future. In the meantime, what are your thoughts on this new game theme? Do you think Eidos will do a great job featuring an underestimated genre? Let us know your thoughts below, and we will get back to you!
