Sneak Peek of Days Gone in VR: Unofficial Mod

The modding community have finally entered the VR zone.

Days Gone has had mixed reviews. But despite that, the game does give you a new experience which is a breath of new life for the genre. We have seen many games having the VR version, and looking at no news of any sequel from Sony for Days Gone and how the franchise has gone to oblivion, we certainly do not expect any such adaptation of Days Gone.

But from the modding community, we do have exciting news; a YouTube channel by the name of VRified Games had previously released a video of an unofficial version of Death Stranding in VR, which has given us a sneak peek of Days Gone in VR.

In a Nutshell

  • After releasing a video of Death Stranding in VR, a Youtube Channel has now revealed a sneak peek of Days Gone in virtual reality.
  • The project looks ambitious, but the idea of it is quite fascinating.
  • We hope this project goes somewhere.

When Days Gone was released, reviews were contradictory. Many critics gave high marks to the open-world gameplay and graphics but gave the plot and character development negative reviews. On Metacritic, the game earned a rating of 73/100, which is considered to be “mixed or mediocre reviews.”

Some critics said the game had potential but that a variety of problems eventually prevented it from reaching its full potential. These included technical issues, including frame rate dips and glitches, monotonous gameplay, and a lack of interesting characters.

Others, however, loved the game and praised the survival gameplay and open-world attention to detail. Overall, it appears that people’s impressions of Days Gone are split; while some players found the game to be exhilarating and engaging, others thought it was lackluster.

For those who liked playing the game, the unofficial VR mode might be great news, and even if you were not fond of the game, experiencing the game in VR might be a good experience for you.

Numerous games have been recreated or made available in virtual reality (VR) formats. Several well-known instances include:

  • A VR prequel to the Half-Life series called Half-Life: Alyx was created and released by Valve Corporation.
  • On the PlayStation 4 and PC, the horror game Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was made available in virtual reality.
  • For PlayStation VR and PC, the first-person shooter game Doom has a VR adaptation called Doom VFR.
  • Fallout 4 VR is a virtual reality adaptation of the PlayStation VR and PC game Fallout 4.
  • The open-world action role-playing game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR was made available for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive.

Developing VR games is not easy, and it requires a lot of attention to detail. We do not expect the modding community nor the people behind this channel to give us an immersive experience due to the complexity of the task. The tools and software required to make VR games are not easily available, nor are they easy to master.

The deep understanding of developing these games, contrary to the development or modding of traditional games, makes us skeptical. The video of the Death Stranding in VR and the sneak peek of days gone suggests that the three-dimensional space and the layouts used were very rough. It is a good way to imagine how the mentioned games would look in VR rather than expecting the modding community to do wonders at this point.

In conclusion, we can say that the concept of VRified Games is good, and they must have worked hard, and we can only wish they could outdo themselves and prove us wrong by releasing a playable version of Death Stranding and Days Gone in VR. Do let us know what your thoughts are on this.
