Ring of Power Season 2 Set’s Pictures Leaked

One of the biggest TV shows in history, not only in production but also finances, The Lord of the Ring: The Rings of Power 1 has stunned fans. Shot in the Second Age of Middle-earth,  J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings lores were condensed for this particular TV series. As confirmed by showrunner Patrick McKay, The Rings of Power is not a continuation of the trilogies mentioned above.

The finale of season 1 has somewhat indicated to the fans the direction Sauron, Galadriel, and the Stranger are headed. Premiered on September 1, 2022, the first couple of episodes of the series were viewed by fans for 1.25 billion minutes. Compared to its biggest rival at the time, HBO’s House of Dragons had only 741 million in terms of viewership.

Shoot Location for Season 1

Amazon prime video bought the television rights to the series in November 2017 and thus is expected to produce up to 5 seasons in a total of the TV show.

The first season was filmed in New Zealand, particularly in the same locations where Lord of the Rings films was filmed. Amazon wanted to keep the fans’ expectations while setting the bar high and chose an incredible place in Auckland. Producers also explored some areas of Scotland during a location scouting for an authentic view.

Key points

  • The billion-dollar TV series is likely to have around 4-5  seasons on amazon prime video.
  • A major shift from New Zealand to the United Kingdom occurred in production.
  • Showrunners claim season 2 to be big in order of magnitude.

Production Shifted to the UK

Much isn’t known about the release date of The Lord of the Ring: The Rings of Power season 2, but if we see a historical pattern of their teasers, it is expected to be out by the second half of 2024. The production of season 2 started on October 3, 2022, and has shifted its production house to the United Kingdom.

Various reasons have surfaced for this decision, including cheaper costs, more diverse locations throughout Europe, and close association with J. R. R. Tolkien’s work. We at TopTierList, spotted a couple of tweets by @sara_talib1, who uploaded pictures of a set of Rings of Power season 2. The leak has stirred conversation among fans, who were quick to respond. Many thought that the production team was wise to shift to the outskirts of Berkshire as it naturally has demolished villages that give a vintage look.

As discussed earlier, the reasons for the shift, some fans believe that the English land influences Tolkein’s writing and thus will greatly help the expression of the overall show.

Season 2 of the billion-dollar TV show will take up the same duration of 8 episodes as was in season 1. No major changes could be seen except that the production of season 2 would be much smoother and faster compared to the previous season. The delay in the production of season 1 mainly resulted from the restrictions imposed during COVID-19.

Concluding Remarks

Viewers around the globe will most probably return for season 2 of the series after watching the epic finale of season 1. Despite following some of the clues from the previous season, fans are curious to know what’s going to happen in the outskirts of the UK as season 2’s filming continues.
