We Might Get Some Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Info in December

Star Wars Jedi is a beloved game series from one of the most popular franchises. The first game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, was released in 2019. It was developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. It follows the story of Cal Kestis, a Jedi Padawan who has become a target of the Galactic Empire and now must train and rebuild the Jedi Order.

The game is set five years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III, and although it was not canon initially, it became canon after the continuation. Cal Kestis is a well-written character with massive potential in the Star Wars lore, so that did not come as a surprise.

The initial game received massive success as it adopted the Metroidvania exploration style, where many locations are blocked or inaccessible until Cal progresses to a certain part of the game.

About Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Although much more will be revealed about the game at a later date, we know that there is a five-year time skip between the first game and this sequel. Here, Cal has to stay ahead of the Empire’s plan and avoid capture at all costs. His existence has now brought an enormous weight upon him as he realizes he is one of the last remaining Jedi.

While we don’t know much more about the game itself other than what has already been revealed, our team at TopTierList found an exciting podcast by Giant Bomb, where Jeff Grubb gave us some details on when to expect more info regarding the game. He also confirmed that the game is set for its release in the March of 2023.

Jeff is a well-known gaming journalist who has access to these games and information months before it is publicly available. He has almost always been correct with these statements; therefore, his word holds some credibility.

Major Points

  • According to Jeff, the game is set to release somewhere in March of 2023, as mentioned in reports by Electronic Arts.
  • He added that since there are less than five months left, it should be announced in December, which is what they have always planned.
  • One logical speculation is that perhaps it will be announced during the Game Awards 2023, or a separate event could also be held.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Progressing as Planned

During the podcast, Jeff Grubb said that even though there is a short time frame between December and the March 2023 release, it is what EA had planned. They do not want a lengthy marketing campaign for this game, believing it will not hurt their sales.

He also added that:

it’s still on track for that March release date, as we’ve been saying this whole time, as EA has been saying in its earnings reports to investors this entire time that the big um, partner game is coming well, that’s always been Star Wars Jedi Survivor

There you have it, Jedi Survivor is their big partner game, and if everything is going as Jeff said, then we will most likely get something in December. Jeff also assured us that there is nothing wrong happening in the development, and it is going smoothly unless something unexpected occurs before the announcement.

In addition, we will get a release date without further teasing, which is excellent news. Many games nowadays have been keeping us waiting for a long time. But luckily, Star War Jedi: Survivor is not one of them.

Since the Game Awards 2023 will be held in December, they will likely announce it there. They can also have their dedicated event, but it makes more sense to plan it for Game Awards as it will surely gain much more attraction.

In Conclusion

We now have some form of confirmation from a credible source that the game is progressing as planned, and if nothing bad happens, we should be getting a release date either during Game Awards 2023 or somewhere during December. The game will be released in March 2023, as it has been reported by EA indirectly.
