Lucasfilm Games certainly has its hands full with many games currently in development. Knights of the Old Republic Remake, Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, Hunters, and Jedi: Survivor are just a few of the titles in development that we are aware of.
They can have an entire lineup planned for a few years, or perhaps, these games are already slated to keep us engaged for the coming year. Regardless, we are not sure what they plan to do with some of these titles, as they have seen unfortunate delays one after another. Luckily, our team at TopTierList found a job listing showing some potential progress in one of their titles.
Let us clarify that we are still unsure what title they focus on in the post mentioned above, but we can still pinpoint some of them. Still, take it with a grain of salt, but rest assured because Lucasfilm Games’ job listing on LinkedIn is still a sigh of relief.
About Lucasfilm Games
The gaming division of Lucasfilm, Lucasfilm Games, is a video game licensor founded in 1982 by George Lucas. It was meant to be part of the extensive reorganization of Lucasfilm’s divisions and became the video game development group. The division was later rebranded as part of LucasArts and became widely popular for its SCUMM Engine in the 1990s.
After a turn of events, Lucasfilm was acquired by The Walt Disney Company in December 2012. By April 2013, Disney announced the shuttering of LucasArts, keeping the group around to handle licensing of Lucasfilm properties to third-party developers.
Since 2021, Disney has revitalized Lucasfilm Games as the licensor of all Lucasfilm-related properties. Lucasfilm is renowned for the Star Wars franchise, and we have many Star Wars-related titles currently in development.
Lucasfilm Games has posted a job listing on LinkedIn for the position of Brand Art Director.
Although it is unclear which game they are talking about, we can safely say that it is one of the titles deeply connected to the Star Wars lore.
The title seems important as the basic qualifications include experience in AAA-budgeted titles.
Lucasfilm Games Job Listing
Earlier today, the studio posted a job listing for the Brand Art Director position. While they have many games in development, we can speculate what they might be talking about based on the many details mentioned in the job description.
In addition, we are sure it is a Star Wars title as they emphasize that by saying, “Lucasfilm Games production and marketing teams, as well as our world-class developers, to deliver exceptional and authentic Star Wars experiences for fans and gamers alike.”
The main work of the Brand Art Director can be explained in their first-mentioned responsibility, “Review all art and visual design submissions including characters, world designs, and animations, ensuring all assets meet our brand and quality standards.”
Aside from the basic information, we can determine the importance of this title and its resources by their requirements for this position.
7 – 10 + years of gaming experience and has held the position of Lead Artist, Art Director for at least two years.
10+ years of experience, specifically in product development/production of console/mobile/PC games or other entertainment.

Excellent creative draftsmanship skills with the ability to sketch, design, and digitally paint.
An eye for vision and execution, as demonstrated by a top-rate portfolio or demo reel.
Broad and deep understanding of the Star Wars brand, including lore, design, and aesthetics.
Extensive game development experience building and supporting top-grossing, critically acclaimed, AAA-budgeted games on console and mobile.
Experience developing artwork for world-class brands.
Upon reading the text, one may miss the critical detail hidden along the lines of “Extensive game development experience building and supporting top-grossing, critically acclaimed, AAA-budgeted games on console and mobile.” One game befitting that criteria is Star Wars: Hunters.
Star Wars: Hunters
Star Wars: Hunters is an upcoming F2P PVP arena combat game developed by Zynga. It will be released for Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS. Although plans were to release the game in 2022, it was delayed to the following year.
Although the reasons for their delay were unclear, we know that it is still a vital title, as it received a soft launch for Android devices in India, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
Since there are many different characters, and it is set between canonical events, we can imagine the game having deeper lore. The job listing already stressed the need for deep lore understanding as its requirements for the position. So, it further strengthens the possibility of Hunters being the game in the discussion.
Lucasfilm Games may have given us some hope regarding their current Star Wars titles in development. But we can’t be too optimistic as this does not imply that the games’ imminent release will come earlier due to the job listing. It only means that the game is progressing as we speak, and we can expect some news from them in the future.
Still, take it with a grain of salt, as they never mentioned the title itself. Other than that, what are your thoughts regarding the job listing? Are there any further details we may have missed out on? Share them with us below, and we will get back to you!
