Forspoken May Not Be the Only Game With 32GB Requirement

Insider warns us that at least four other big titles are pushing for 32GB recommended requirement.

One of the biggest surprises the gaming community saw in the past week was the recommended requirements for Forspoken. Many gamers did not anticipate that the day would come so soon when a game would require 32 GB of RAM to get the maximum benefits. Unfortunately, our team at TopTierList found a statement by insider JeremyPenter, warning us to expect more such games in 2023.

Twitter user JeremyPenter, who previously revealed Avowed has co-op components, has tweeted saying, “more than 4 other big titles I know of are also pushing 32 gigs on pc as their recommended requirements. Expect even more than that in 2023.

Though we don’t know which games they might be, we can expect at least a few more games like Forspoken with some high-end requirements coming in 2023. As upsetting as it may be, the only thing we can do is hope that the developers optimize the games well, otherwise many will be unable to enjoy a game even by having a good PC.

Major Points

  • An insider has revealed that there are at least 4 more big titles pushing for the 32 GB RAM recommended requirement on PC.
  • These 4 titles are likely some of the announced games since they have to be in later development stages.
  • He further told us to expect more games like Forspoken in 2023.

Until now, gamers have been getting away easily with 16 GB RAM even in high-end PCs. That’s because we don’t have many games that require such hefty specs. As such, we should take Forspoken as a reference to show what kind of system requirements we can expect in future gaming.

For minimum performance – 720p 30fps:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 64-bit
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel Core i7-3700
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB or Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6GB
  • Memory: 16GB
  • Storage: 150GB HDD or more

For recommended performance 1440p 30fps:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 64-bit
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i7-8700K
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB or Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070 8GB
  • Memory: 24GB
  • Storage: 150GB SSD or more

For ultra performance 2160p 60fps:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 64-bit
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5800X or Intel Core i7-12700
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT 16GB or Nvidia Gefore RTX 4080 16GB
  • Memory: 32GB
  • Storage: 150GB NVMe SSD or more

These have been confirmed so far, and it is clearly visible why many gamers are concerned as these requirements are not easy to get. Gaming is a casual hobby, and hardly many people invest so much in their setups. So, the insider’s statement that more games are pushing for similar requirements is bad news for many of us.

Forspoken 2023
Forspoken.

There are even people calling Forspoken a badly optimized game. We have already seen some of the leaked gameplay footage, and if that is all the game has to offer, the question of optimization is most certainly valid.

Even so, we aren’t unfamiliar with this situation. Previously, Returnal, also revealed the game’s recommended requirements to be 32 GB, but it was later changed to 16 GB for high settings. That change occurred with the optimization of the game, and we can only hope the same for Forspoken.

In the same way, the many future games that are aiming for similar requirements might also receive some good change, since this is still in the works. No developer would want to make an unoptimized game that requires such a hefty setup, as it can make the game unattractive for many gamers, especially in the current gaming era.

That is all we can say regarding the matter. What other games do you think the insider is referring to in his tweet? Do you think having high recommended requirements is better for future gaming? Share your thoughts with us below, and we will get back to you!
