Latest Nvidia Update Bumps RDR2’s Performance by 7%

Red Dead Redemption is one of the best action-adventure games players can enjoy in the current game pool. Despite being released in 2018, Read Dead Redemption 2 still pulls in thousands of players daily. This is all thanks to its online environment.

Rockstar games hit it well with this title but this game. However, a lot of its charm is thanks to some of the best graphics we have ever seen. It is in a stunning environment with phenomenal gameplay. Set in the old western setting, it is the perfect escape to an older, finer time.

RDR2 Performance Increase

Nvidia releases regular updates that optimize their hardware for a select few titles, and we at TopTierList managed to find a tweet by the user @videotech in which he discusses one of the most important parts of the new Nvidia graphics update.

The tweet itself makes it pretty clear what this new update brings us. If you are an owner of the Nvidia cards and a fellow Red Dead Redemption fanatic, then I have a piece of great news for you. This newest update increases the performance of the game by 7%.

This performance was tested on the 1080p setting on local devices. Furthermore, you may think that 7% is not that big of a change if you own a relatively good GPU. However, if you own a lower-end GPU that is still viable for the new update, you will see a major performance change.

The term performance in this update refers to overall graphics, visuals, and, most importantly, ray tracing of the game. This is one of the best updates Nvidia has rolled out recently, and I hope they don’t stop here.

The Gist of It All

  • Nvidia’s newest update shows a performance increase of 7% in Red Dead Redemption 2.
  • The new update also releases performance increases for several other games on current and next-gen consoles.
  • It is one of the best Nvidia updates published in a while.

Other Performance Updates

While exploring the update notes for this new patch, we also saw that the performance update was not restricted to Red Dead Redemption 2. In the notes, Nvidia has listed other games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Far Cry 6, which also received a performance upgrade.

The Cyberpunk performance increase is one of the highest, which is 20% in 1080p settings. This is, again, a huge performance boost in games like these that completely change how the game feels for the better.

In addition to Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla also received a major performance upgrade. It was marked around a 24% increase in performance at 1080p settings. Similarly, F1 22 received a 17% increase in performance but at 4k display settings.
