Blizzard Hiring QA Lead to Improve the Quality of Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 – a game that brought mixed feelings from casual and competitive gamers alike. Although the game is a sequel to Overwatch (2016), the birth of this game meant the death of its ancestor. One of the many things that did not sit well with the players.

Blizzard did their best to bring satisfaction to those players. Still, it seemed like the game’s launch was done in a rush. Significant bugs and many instances made the game unplayable for everyone.

Still, Blizzard has brought those bugs to a minimum by bringing some fixes and is continuing to do so. Their efforts have brought fruition as the player count for Overwatch 2 is better than we expected after the initial fiasco.

Moving forward, it looks like Blizzard is doing all it can to avoid future inconveniences to players and themselves. One of their big steps can be seen in a new job listing that our team at TopTierList spotted just today.

Overwatch 2 Launch

If you could not see the game’s initial state, you might feel we are overstating some things. Unfortunately, we are not; the game had many bugs, ranging from account merge errors to queue time of hours and hours, and once you got in a game, there was always a possibility of disconnecting from the server, ruining your progress.

There was also a massive issue of the game showing itself to be free-to-play, yet making it almost impossible to get good skin without grinding for way too long. A problem that persists even now. In fact, there is a way to get Overwatch 2 skins in lesser time by playing World of Warcraft.

Nevertheless, things are a bit better now, and Overwatch 2 might have an even better future after seeing the efforts made by Blizzard Entertainment.

Major Points

  • Blizzard Entertainment seeks to hire Test Director for their Quality Assurance team for Overwatch 2.
  • It shows that Blizzard is improving the game and avoiding future errors.
  • Even now, the game is riddled with many issues, so even by hiring capable people, it can still take some time for the game to be a perfect sequel to Overwatch (2016).

Blizzard to Improve Overwatch 2’s State

Blizzard Entertainment is looking to hire a Test Director to join their Overwatch 2 QA team. According to the job description, they are “looking for a technically proficient and knowledgeable Test Director for Overwatch to lead QA operations and test across a variety of products.

The work of a Test Director is crucial to ensure that the game remains above the quality standard. Along the lines, they also mentioned the role of a Test Director in their QA Team as “focus to shift us left towards bug prevention, optimizing flow from left to right, improving our feedback cycles from right to left, and identifying and mitigating risks. They provide quality confidence in our software development processes and our games and ensure an epic delivery to our players.

Since the franchise has gained massive popularity, such initiatives are expected. However, that does not mean they lacked those departments before the game’s launch. For all we know, many other factors may have resulted in the games’ current condition.

Still, we can expect Blizzard to make better moves from now on. Truthfully, the game would have already lost most of its fanbase, but the love for the prequel and FPS games made Overwatch 2 much more bearable.

About Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 is an FPS game by Blizzard Entertainment. It gives the players a PvP environment identical to its prequel and offers much more. One of the significant changes in Overwatch 2 is the PvP mode and the reduction of team size from six to five. Overwatch 2 also reworked some of the characters, so each can fill a specific aspect of a game.

Ending Remarks

We now have some assurance that Blizzard Entertainment actively seeks to improve things and not just suppress the issues. Although the game was riddled with bugs, it has now gotten better, and from here on, it will only improve to become one of the best FPS games we know.

However, we will need to wait a while to see the efforts of their Quality Assurance team. In the meantime, what are your thoughts on the game? Do you think Blizzard is handling the situation well? Share your thoughts below, and we will discuss them with you!
