Redfall’s Delayed by About 6 Weeks to a May Release Date

Bethesda has several games lined up for coming years, and it seems like one of the closest ones we have is Redfall. We have credible rumors that the game is set to release in the first half of 2023, and some insiders even said that it is scheduled for a release at the end of March 2023.

Since it is almost confirmed that Xbox will have a showcase event in early 2023, it seems believable that they will give the proper release date for Redfall, leaving them with only a few months for marketing. However, Twitter user Okami Games, the insider who first told us the game would be released in March, has yet again updated us on the date, but this time it isn’t as good as we hoped.

He stated that he has “heard that it’s been pushed back internally by about 6 weeks. Currently targeting an early May release.” Considering his past record of credible leaks, our team at TopTierList thought it best to convey the unfortunate news to the community.

Major Points

  • Redfall‘s release date has been delayed internally by around 6 weeks.
  • Since we haven’t received an official release date trailer for Redfall, Xbox may have delayed the date to give them further room for marketing.
  • The reasons for this internal delay are unknown, but insider assures it is likely for good reasons.

Redfall is an upcoming first-person shooter game by Arkane Studios Austin, and Bethesda Softworks will publish it. It is currently set to release in 2023 for Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X/S. The game was revealed during E3 2021 and received another trailer during Xbox & Bethesda Showcase in June 2022.

On both occasions, no release date was given, but it was stated that the game would be released in 2023. Many sources confirmed it will be during the first half of 2023, but Okami Games got the information from his sources that it will be at the end of March 2023. He also said that a “one-week early access release is also planned for pre-orders and/or deluxe edition owners.”

However, he recently updated in a tweet that it has been pushed internally by about 6 weeks, which makes sense since now they can have more time between the release date trailer and the imminent release of the game. There have already been many rumors, and Microsoft has indirectly confirmed in some documents that there will be a showcase event in early 2023.

Xbox showed no presence at The Game Awards 2022, so they might reveal the trailer during that event. If so, they will need some time to market the pre-orders and hype up the game. It is also possible that Xbox will reveal some of its plans with Square Enix during that event, but that’s a topic for another day.

For now, we can only hope the release date is as early as the insider says it is. Fans have already been waiting for a while, and Redfall can be a perfect start to 2023. It is perfectly reasonable to wait some more for a game as anticipated as this.
