Major Highlights

Steam Next Fest (Feb 06-13) features hundreds of demos, and these 5 Indie games made with Unreal Engine have us excited.

  • Bramble: The Mountain King – A Dark adventure game set in a Nordic world, available April 27th, but the demo is available.
  • Voidtrain – Interdimensional Express Train exploration game, demo available.
  • System Shock – Survival game set in space, releasing next month, but you can play the demo thanks to Steam’s Next Fest.
  • Tribe: Primitive Builder – Survive as an exile on a lost island, demo available.
  • Sherlock Holmes The Awakened – Lovecraftian adventure with Sherlock investigating disappearances; demo available, release date not disclosed.

We will discuss the top 5 games we are very much excited about; you can take help from the picture above to see the whole list and do your research. The games below have been the top games from the list of indie games, and your opinion may vary, though.

Bramble: The Mountain King

Bramble: The Mountain King is a dark adventure game set in a Nordic-inspired world. Explore the twisted landscape to rescue your sister while facing deadly creatures. It will be available on the 27th of April, but you can download its demo as part of Steam’s Next Fest.

Voidtrain

Explore a new world on an Interdimensional Express Train in Voidtrain. Upgrade and battle enemies, solo or with friends, in a mysterious world full of creatures and places. Maybe it will be released in 2023, but this game has no definite date. The game is also available for download as a playable demo.

System Shock

System Shock is a game where you fight in space for your life. It is not very clear what the game from Nightdive Studios is about, but from the trailer, it seems it is a survival game in space where you have to solve some puzzles. The game has a few monsters and games in the trailer, which seem very scary.  It will be released next month.

Tribe: Primitive Builder

Survive as an exile on a lost island in Tribe: Primitive Builder. Build, and reunite your tribe, explore, and deliver a message before it’s too late. Survive on a mysterious island filled with challenges, secrets, and dangers. Explore undiscovered places, face off against dangerous characters, and unravel the secrets of mystical tribals. What will you do to make it out alive? Find more about it in the Q3 of 2023, but for now, you can play the demo thanks to Steam’s Next Fest.

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened

Investigate as Sherlock Holmes in a Lovecraftian adventure and face off against the legendary Cthulhu Mythos in “The Awakened.” Uncover the truth behind mysterious disappearances linked to a dark cult and stop their plan, or face the consequences beyond comprehension. We surely loved part one of this game; even though it was not perfect, it had its fair share of fun elements and a decent story. This game is part of Steam’s Next Fest’s Demo lineup, but the release date of this game is not disclosed yet.

These were our top 5 indie games whose demos are available. They have us excited, but the list is very big, and you can choose many games.
