Footage of System Shock Remake’s Boss Leaked

How rare is it that you find one of the most unexpected leaks? That will be the case today as you will get to see rare gameplay footage leaked from a game that still hasn’t received a release date. The game in question is System Shock Remake.

The 5-minute-long gameplay with additional credit gives us great insight. Some things may look rough, but note that things are subject to change. The game is said to be finished overall, but they are still working on bug fixes.

About the Game

System Shock is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Nightdive Studios, and Prime Matter will publish it. The game is a remake of the original 1994 title with the same name. Looking Glass Studios developed it.

So far, we can only confirm that the game will be released simultaneously on PC, macOS, PS4, Xbox One, and Linux. If you did not know, the game has been through a lot. The rights of System Shock were acquired by Star Insurance Company, a Meadowbrook Insurance Group subsidiary.

In 2012, Nightdive Studios got the rights for the 2nd installment. Eventually, the studio acquired the rights to the whole franchise. In 2015, they announced the development of a remake of System Remake. They further said it would be simply called System Shock instead of a remaster, as the level of effort put into it makes the game more like a franchise reboot, not a remaster.

Since then, the announcements have been delayed, and fans are still waiting for some news regarding the game. Luckily, we have some leaks for you to quench that thirst. Do note that they contain heavy spoilers, as it is the footage of the final boss.

Final Boss Footage

The comments to the video express the disappointment of many fans, but we should wait for the final release. One interesting thing is how 6 Degrees of Freedom are used here, which gives it a more VR look. If it does come in VR, the game will surely not disappoint.

Furthermore, the location also gives heavy The Illusive Man’s room vibes. He is a character from Mass Effect 2 and 3. Although the end credit song ‘The Order of Death’ by Public Image Ltd. seems more like a troll as we have been waiting for this game for a long time, the results are unfortunately unsatisfactory.

It may be false hope, but since nothing is confirmed yet, let’s hope for the best. In the meantime, let us know below what you find good and bad from the gameplay footage.
