Tekken is one of the most popular fighting video games and has been serving us with some of the best gameplay and interesting lore for each character. Tekken 7‘s release in 2015 was successful, and fans have been waiting ever since for a sequel to that masterpiece.
Luckily, Bandai Namco announced Tekken 8 in September, causing an uproar of excitement within the community. The fighting game genre had a blessed year with the reveal of Street Fighter 6 as well. However, the official release date for Tekken 8 is still not confirmed.
But with the recent financial year report given by Bandai Namco, we can at least confirm that the game is set to release somewhere during 2023.

Bandai Namco revealed the Q2 FY report for 2022, ending on 31st March 2023. The document contained a summary of the Q&A and had some exciting news. We saw the success of Elden Ring, selling 17.5 million copies. But many fans were too blinded by that news to see something else.
One of the lines in the 2nd paragraph of the document mentioned, “In addition to the titles scheduled for release in fiscal 2022, we plan to release several major titles in fiscal 2023 that will allow players to enjoy playing games longer and deeper. We are also developing “Tekken 8” with the aim of releasing it in 2023 [or later].”

We aren’t unfamiliar with delays; as unfortunate as they are, we need to be realistic here. We can only hope the game will be released next year, but if the proper development requires more time, we can expect it to release in early 2024.
Since they gave this much information in their Q2 FY report, we might see more exciting news in another future report, or they can even drop another trailer at a big event like The Game Awards.
