Dead Space Remake Dethrones Hogwarts Legacy as Top Seller

After enjoying the top spot as the best seller on Steam, Hogwarts Legacy has finally been surpassed.

One of the most highly-anticipated games, Dead Space Remake, was released today, and it has taken the community by storm. You may know how Hogwarts Legacy was the topic of every conversation due to its rank as the Top Seller on Steam. However, it seems like the unreleased game has found its match, as Dead Space Remake takes the sweet spot.

Even though Hogwarts Legacy has not been released, it is still quite a milestone for Dead Space Remake to dethrone it within a day. But it will be fun to see who wins the real race in two weeks as Hogwarts Legacy finally hits the shelves.

Regardless, Dead Space Remake is doing exceptionally well, with many positive reviews and an 89 Metacritic score. Since it is nearly impossible to achieve perfection, the game is undoubtedly doing better than we all expected. The only thing that remains for us to see is whether the game will continue to be the Top Seller in the midst of some other upcoming titles.

Major Points

  • Dead Space Remake takes the Top Seller spot from Hogwarts Legacy in just a day.
  • Since there are still two weeks before the Hogwarts Legacy release, it still enjoys the Top Wishlist spot.
  • Having such a great Metacritic score, Dead Space Remake has become one of the best Remakes we have seen in a long time.

Dead Space Remake was announced in mid-2021, and it promised to bring the original thrill of the game with an even better experience. In its own words, “The sci-fi survival-horror classic Dead Spaceâ„¢ returns, completely rebuilt from the ground up to offer a deeper, more immersive experience. This remake brings jaw-dropping visual fidelity, suspenseful atmospheric audio, and improvements to gameplay while staying faithful to the original game’s thrilling vision.

However, Remakes only rarely work, as fans have grown to expect new content or at least a much better gaming experience with the original material. Dead Space Remake seems to carry it all, offering easter eggs, an alternate ending, and an elevated “Dead Space” vibe.

Considering the benchmark set by the original game and fans’ expectations after the reveal, the game’s release has been nothing short of perfect. Hogwarts Legacy, another game scheduled for release next month, had been enjoying the Top Seller position on Steam for quite some time. But it looks like Dead Space Remake has finally surpassed Hogwarts Legacy.

It is a big feat, especially since Hogwarts Legacy became the topic of almost every conversation in the gaming community. Even the recent Hi-Fi Rush could only take the spotlight for a short while. But Dead Space Remake has gone and done the deed.

Aside from its rank on Steam, the game also found massive success with positive reviews on Metacritic, with an 89 score. However, we are really excited to see whether the game will hold its position as Hogwarts Legacy is nearing its release, and once fans see the many new things you can do there, others might jump on the hype train.

Not to mention, Hogwarts Legacy is still the Top Wishlist game on Steam and has dominated the ranking amidst huge controversy and pre-order cancellations from many gamers. So, whether Dead Space Remake has truly beaten the game is not an appropriate question yet.

That’s because Hogwarts Legacy still has the final move, and once it is released on the 10th of February, we will see how both games do against one another. All competition aside, both games are sure to be amazing, and I personally can’t pick between the two.

The developers have worked hard on them and supporting them together while enjoying their content is the best way to spend our time. Still, do you think Dead Space Remake will continue to be the Top Seller on Steam? Or will Hogwarts Legacy take the spot again once it is released?
