Insider Says Elden Ring DLC Will Be Released in Q4 2023

The release window was given to the insider via his sources.

FromSoftware just announced the DLC for Elden Ring, called Shadow of the Erdtree. Although not much else was given except for an image to tease us, our team at TopTierList found a tweet by a renowned insider whose sources revealed it would be released in Q4 2023.

Twitter user eXtas1s has proven himself to be credible with many leaks in the past. This time, he tweeted saying, “From Software announces the development of the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC which will be released in Q4 2023 according to sources I consulted.” The tweet was translated from Spanish, so some words might not be as accurate.

Considering it is only an expansion, the release window seems highly likely. Even then, Elden Ring is one of the best games in gaming history, so we can’t confirm what FromSoftware has in mind. But if it is indeed Q4 2023, the announcement should come sooner than later.

Major Points

  • Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will likely be released in Q4 2023.
  • Though we don’t know what to expect in this DLC, it should be huge as it will be the game’s first DLC.
  • The release date will be more specific with an official announcement, which might come shortly if it is Q4 2023.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree was announced just today, and it has put every Tarnished on the edge of their seats. Even though they did not say anything about what to expect, the image should draw a lot of speculation in the coming weeks.

The game has massive lore, some of which is still being explored a year after the game’s release. As such, there are some lore points that people would love to see getting explored in the DLC, the most popular being Miquella and the many references to him throughout the Lands Between.

There are hours of videos exploring his lore and what we can expect in his DLC, which you can check out on YouTube. If we were to write it down ourselves, the article would be unnecessarily long. Regardless of what the DLC might explore, it will surely be exciting since the game is a masterpiece.

FromSoftware has given no release window for the DLC, leaving some to believe that it will be released later in 2024. Luckily, a renowned insider has updated us with his tweet that Shadow of the Erdtree should be released in Q4 2023.

The information comes from his sources, who have proven to be reliable so far. Nevertheless, take it with a grain of salt since it is not official yet. If we were to speculate what the date would be, somewhere during Q4 seems likely, as we have more than enough time for the necessities till then.

FromSoftware will be able to market it properly, not that it will need to do much since the game has already amassed a massive following in the past year. It even went close to gathering 1m concurrent players on Steam. Only a handful of games have performed that well, making Elden Ring deserving of the Game of the Year award.

If you think you can’t wait long to play the DLC, you may want to look at other ways the Elden Ring community is modifying the game. The game has many amazing mods, including the first-person mod, which we believe is perfect for a game like this.

Returning to the content we can expect in the DLC, the image by FromSoftware gives some interesting details. More on that should be uploaded with hundreds of videos and articles on the web as the theory crafters wake up from their slumber.
