The Game Awards showed many games with some insane potential; perhaps the most surprising one was Transformers: Reactivate. Even though our team at TopTierList did cover some previous leaks that heavily pointed at a Transformers game reveal during the TGA 2022, it still caught many off-guard.
Aside from the trailer, we still don’t have much official information for the in-game content, but that ends now because the same leaker that brought us leaked models from the Transformers game has revealed content from the 2018 build of Transformers: Reactivate. Upon deeper inspection, we found that we can expect a few more playable characters.
Major Points
- The leaked build shows 10 playable characters, some of which were not in the trailer.
- The test build is 2 years old, and the game is said to be in development since at least 2017, so it is probably in a better-developed state than we think.
- There are still no indications whether we will see a “customizable character” option, similar to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.
The leaked build was discussed extensively by RoboGamer1HD, who is currently the most knowledgeable leaker on this game, as far as we know. He not only shared some exciting things from the early build but also went in-depth to explain the easter eggs from the official trailer.
If you want to know more about that and check out his theories, you can watch the entire 26-minute video, but if you are only here for a summary of the leaked build, keep reading. We have four screenshots from the video, and they reveal these 10 characters.
- Starscream.
- Slipstream.
- Hot Rod.
- Soundwave.
- Sunstreaker.
- Ironhide.
- Windblade.
- Shockwave.
- Ratchet.
- Bumblebee.
Some of these we already knew would be in the lineup. And everyone on this list is almost certainly a playable character unless they change some things in the final version. Still, it is weird to see that neither Optimus Prime nor Megatron is in this lineup.
This forces us to believe that the 7 characters shown in the first screenshot may not be the only ones, and we may have more if we scroll sideways. Either way that is still a lot, and we can only hope each of them brings more content to the overall game.
If you are unfamiliar with the game’s story, it depicts a time when Decepticons and Autobots have joined hands and are working together to fight against the Legion. They have already lost Earth, and perhaps many notable faces are already dead.
It is a 1-4 player online action game developed by Splash Damage. Previously, the game was under development by Certain Affinity, and this leaked build is likely from during their time. In addition, Transformers: Reactivate is the rumored Transformers: Rise, as that was the name used under Certain Affinity.
According to the official site, they have a planned Closed Beta for 2023, so we can expect further official information in that period. Do you think the game looks much different now than it did in the leaked build from 2018? And what other characters would you like to play in the game? Share your thoughts with us below, and we will get back to you!
